William Boling joined the ICP Library recently to share Debbie Fleming Caffery’s photobook Alphabet with some of our teeniest patrons. Caffery’s book features 26 gorgeous black & white photographs from her archive. Each image broadly corresponding with letters of the alphabet. The crowd, children age 4-12 years old, were completely enraptured with his reading. It was interesting to see how each interpreted the image and its relationship to it’s letter differently.
Boling published this children’s photobooks through his imprint Fall Line Press. Fall Line is a photobook publisher, bookstore and reading room in Atlanta, GA, who’s mission is “to support photobooks and their creators.” Ou teenies particularly loved hearing a behind the scenes account of the bookmaking process. Many thanks to him for inspiring a new generation of photobook makers!
